Company history

Endeavor Air's lineage traces back to one of the original U.S. regional airlines:

• 1985: Pinnacle Airlines founded as Express Airlines I in Memphis, Tennessee, operating as Northwest Airlink
• 2002: Pinnacle Airlines became an independent regional carrier after Northwest Airlines ownership changes
• 2007: Pinnacle acquired Colgan Air and Mesaba Airlines
• 2012: Pinnacle Airlines Corp. filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy (April)

Business model

Endeavor operates exclusively under a capacity purchase agreement with its parent company, Delta Air Lines:

• Delta Connection: All Endeavor flights operate under the Delta Connection brand. Delta sells the tickets, sets the schedule, controls the network, and bears the revenue risk. Endeavor provides the aircraft, crew, and operation.
• Wholly owned subsidiary: Unlike independent regionals (SkyWest, Republic), Endeavor is 100% owned by Delta. This alignment means Endeavor's interests are directly tied to Delta's network strategy.
• Flow-through pipeline: Endeavor's primary strategic value to Delta is as a pilot development pipeline. The contractual flow guarantees a steady supply of trained, experienced pilots to Delta mainline.
